Leaving the Past Where it Belongs

As Born again Christians, we all came from some mess that God intended to transform into a message. Some were drunkards, prostitutes, murderers and rapists. Name it, you will find an ex something in the house of God. Since the devil is not too happy that we chose to abandon the evil ways and seek God, he will always be bringing up the issues every time we want to rise up from them. What we sometimes forget is that when we gave our lives to Christ, all that we had ever done, God forgave us and he threw it in the lake of forgetfulness. We started a new life free from our past issues. The devil does not want us to forget the issues as he knows that he can always use them to intimidate us.

Leaving the past where it belongs is something every Christian who wants to grow in the their walk with God should do. This is not easy but when you ask God to help you forget the past, he will. The reason why God allowed you to go through what you had to was because he wants to turn that mess into a message for someone else. There is somebody who needs to hear of how God brought you out. Whatever it is you were in, you can use it to help someone know that there is hope for them too in God.

Don't die with your story. Turn it into a message to strengthen someone's faith or get someone to give their life to Christ. Rise up from the shame and turn it to fame for Jesus Christ. Do not allow the devil to intimidate you but rise up and tell the world your story. This way, the devil truly knows that he has no place in your life.
