That's exactly what the Vatican has decided to do, about the movie ‘Angels and Demons' (Director -Ron Howard).

"Dramatizing the issue involuntarily gives publicity to Angels & Demons," said Archbishop Velasio De Paolis, in an interview with Italy's La Stampa newspaper. Many church leaders are adopting this strategy hoping that the less attention they give the film, the less popular it will get.

So far so good, because controversy did help Ron Howard's first film adaptation of Dan Brown's novel ‘The Da Vinci Code'.

However, Ron Howard was not permitted to shoot in historic churches, forcing the cast to recreate them. Catch the stills from ‘Angels and Demons' at www.angelsanddemonsgulf.com

One of these churches is Santa Maria della Vittoria, the titular church of Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley. He writes in his blog saying, "The story line of "Angels and Demons," I'm sure, will underscore many of the interesting architectural and artistic aspects of the city of Rome, including my own Church, Santa Maria della Vittoria, which has one of the finest statues in Rome: the Bernini statue of "The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa"

Not talking about the movie still raises the question- "Why is this not making a difference to the Vatican?" On the contrary, as O'Malley made a positive point about the movie that the artistic aspects of Rome would gain more attention, also makes sense. ‘Angels and Demons' are gaining popularity either way.
