A PDA is a handheld electronic organizer which combines a variety of computing, and communication services. In addition to basic features such as scheduling, pocket word processing, and handwriting recognition, many PDAs now also come with mobile
web browsers, and even built in
cell phones. They allow for synchronization with desktop and laptop computers for the purpose of transferring information.
Some of the primary manufacturers of PDAs include Palm, HP, RIM, Sony, and Toshiba.
