Pay per click advertising can be one of the most lucrative ways to turn prospective buyers into purchasers of your business products. I emphasize "can be" because so many online advertisers believe that by simply starting a campaign the dollars will roll in. Take these simple steps and you will avoid wasting thousands of dollars and actually get your ad seen above your competitors.

Select keywords which are low in competition

PPC advertising is extremely competitive. Do not just pick the most popular keywords in your niche as you will soon blow your budget with little sales to show for it. It is vital to choose those keywords in your niche which have low competition as these words will cost less. There are plenty of keyword products on the market which can be found free online. The best keyword research tools will often give you a list of alternative keywords to the ones you have selected. This saves you time and money by filtering out keywords which are over budget and finding those words with little competition.

Write ads that sell

Most PPC ads are less than 120 words long. You therefore have to be creative in writing your pay per click ads to get your ad noticed by your potential buyers amongst the sea of other advertisements. Your headline should include the main benefit of your product to catch the buyer's eye. Use your main keyword in your PPC advert headline. If the keyword is the actual search term used by your buyer then they are much more likely to click on your ad.

Testing, testing and more testing

You should always make as many different ads focused on the same keyword. You will then be able to analyze which ad is creating the most sales for you. The next step is to delete those ads which are not converting. This in the long run will make your ads highly profitable and cost efficient.

Occupation: Diy Solar Panel Enthusiast
The world's fossil fuel resources are depleting rapidly. I first ventured into solar energy in the 1990s. The commercial solar panel systems and solar water heaters on the market were out of my price range (and still are!).

I did some research and decided to build my own DIY solar panels and water heating systems. I now create 80% of my own electricity using DIY solar panels and solar water heating systems.
