The most common challenge in project management has to do with resource coordination. The Projects manager has the responsibility of effectively coordinating all project resources, along side managing the project cycle so as to meet the project objective. In most instances the challenge becomes daunting when project team members do not see themselves as part of the solution to improving project resource coordination.
There are some factors which when well managed can help improve the passion of the project team and thereby improve the coordination process. It is important for the project team to realize that true success is the outward evidence of inward development so it is only when the individuals realize what is in them that the team can achieve the project objective.
These factors are explained as below:
Personal Views:
Project team members must place values on their views. They must realise that their views are so important for the successful implementation of the project. They must therefore be available at all times to encourage and recognize contributions and views of all other stakeholders and team members. Whilst you are recognizing others, your views are also being recognized.
Encourage Diversity:
Project team members must encourage diversity, diversity, variety, assortment, or multiplicity or ideas and traits within the project life cycle.
Be Yourself:
They must demonstrate high personal standards for integrity by always giving their best and they must always be themselves. Success consists of some principles, secrets and processes, but how to get it, is to recognize them quickly. Never blame the team for performance shortfalls but rather always talk about self and others as part of the team and the solution
Create a conducive work environment:
Let the work area look attractive. Free flow of communication, speak simple language, create informal work environment and communicate project plans, initiatives and objectives with passion and enthusiasm to create an energetic, enjoyable place people want to work. Take decisions that are in the best interest of all and not just in the area of a particular interest group.
Encourage the team to exercise initiative always:
Encourage the team to take personal responsibility to fix things that are not right. They must make it a duty to always get involved, identify the team needs and make meaningful suggestions to improve things that are not progressive.
