The competitiveness of the travel marketing sector.

Travel marketing is much more competitive than a lot of people realize. There are only so many popular destinations and so many ways to get there, but people who want to travel have so many companies that they can choose from. Some of them offer discounts during certain times of the year, or for traveling in a specific way or on a specific airline. This is important because a lot of travelers on a budget want to find the least expensive way to take their vacation and still really enjoy it. The travel marketing that they are inundated with can have a big effect on how they decide which travel company they are going to go with. Another way to be competitive is to showcase the different destinations that a company has to offer and why certain ones are better than others. This is a good strategy if there are deep discounts to a particular place at that time of year, or if there is something very important going on there, such as a festival, etc.
Of course, not everyone wants to attend these kinds of events, and not everyone will be completely taken in by the way that something is marketed to them, so there should be substance to back up what's offered. If a company gets so competitive that they offer things that they can't follow through on they could lose business and be in a lot of trouble. If you want to travel, make sure you look around and see which travel company has the best deal, not just the best marketing. In the long run, that will be what matters the most to you, and you'll get to have a great vacation for a price that you can afford with no unpleasant surprises from your travel company.
