Most people (guys and gals) try too hard on a first date. It becomes a very stressful situation which increases the chances that the date will not turn out to be enjoyable for either one of you.
To make any first date super successful all you have to do is:
1. Be a little bit prepared. (Being prepared will be easy when you use the three-phase formula I’ll explain shortly.)
2. Make sure you cover the basics -- like being on time, being nice, and by all means LISTEN.
And while we’re talking about listing, you can copy one of Larry King’s popular conversation techniques that he uses on his TV program, Larry King Live.
When your date answers one of your questions, you can occasionally ask, “And why do you say that?” This will show that you’re interested in what they said and it will give you a deeper understanding of your date’s personality and their thinking.
3. Be relaxed. (And if you follow the three-phase formula for your date, you will be relaxed and the stress will disappear automatically.)
The three-phase formula in a nutshell
Most of the time a date is planned around one big event -- dinner, a ball game, a play, a movie, etc. This is a recipe for disaster. This is where the stress comes in. What if the movie is not good or a few people are talking so loud that no one can enjoy the movie? What if the theater is so crowded that you can't find two seats together? There are all kinds of things that can go wrong.
The three-phase formula keeps this from spoiling the date.
Here's how the three-phase formula prevents stress and disaster
The three-phases formula date is not built around one big event. For example a typical three-phase date might consist of, dinner, a movie and then a walk -- or how about a picnic, a bike ride and then a movie? How about a drink, a concert, and a canoe ride? You will find a lot of options for your three-phase date if you give it some thought and get a little bit creative.
The big advantage of having three phases to a date is that it takes the pressure off. If one phase flops, it's not likely that all three stages will flop and with two good phases you can still have a wonderful date.
Since the traditional date is basically built around one event, the potential for something to go wrong is very high. This puts a lot of stress on the date and neither party can be relaxed.
With the three-phase date, if something goes wrong with one phase, this can even make the other two phases more interesting. If something goes wrong with one phase of the date, this is something the two you have in common to talk about. Something going wrong with one phase of the date can even make the date more fun, relaxing and enjoyable.
Another advantage of the three-phase date is that it gives you an opportunity to learn three times as much about your date and their likes and dislikes as you would learn on an ordinary date.
Don’t stop with having a three-phase first date. Turn all of your dates into three-phase dates from now on and see how much more relaxing and fun dates can be.
And best of all, the three-phase date will make you relaxed and a fun person to be with.
