Colorado's mountain trails are top tier among the best mountain biking trails in the country. Along with its breathtaking views, Breckenridge is considered a premier biking destination. Enjoy first class tickets to wondrous mountain views of the aspen trees, maybe the occasional wildlife and the colorful wildflowers. And of course, one of the perks is its gets you active all the way and maybe even loose some excess pounds along the way.

Tips are always good to take, especially if they're really good. Biking has a relatively short list as far as preparation and planning is concerned, but it is always a prerequisite to take them.

In choosing trails, you should always consider length and difficulty level of the trail. Ask mountain bikers who are very familiar with the area to recommend trails that would be perfect for your skill level and also trails that you would like to be a little challenging. Always remember that unfamiliar trails should always be approached with care and caution. Trails that are short don't necessarily mean they're easy. Length and elevation of the trails are factors that should be taken into consideration. Raise your comfort level as you get familiar with the trails you're taking, the more familiar you are with the trail the more comfortable you get. In no time you will be able to take more challenging and difficult ones. But don't be ashamed to take a break and get off your bike if the trail gets ridiculously too much. Walk it off. Pushing yourself too much can never be good at the end.

Biking can get taxing if you're not using the right bike. Bikes should be specific to its rider. The length and fit should be perfect. Don't strain yourself because you need to stretch and reach for the handle bars and pedal. These are major points you should consider if you're just renting or borrowing a bike from your friend. Make sure the parts can be adjusted to your specific needs. Helmets are considered a must especially for mountain bikers. It is not only considered as protective gear but is also a life saving device if you get into an accident. They're usually lightweight and well ventilated so you wont have to be bothered that its there, make sure it is strapped snuggly. Ask professionals or your local sports shop of other protective gear you should have, they will be very helpful.

Trails are often open to everybody enjoying nature. So you'll most definitely bump into hikers, horseback riders, nature photographers and sightseers; make sure to slow down when you are turning in a blind corner. Show courtesy by calling out your presence to other by saying "to the left" or "on your right". These will help you avoid collision and accidents. Don't scare horses as you wheeze by, if possible, dismount your bike and take a few steps downhill before getting on it again.

Breckenridge play host to many sports but is considered as mountain biking country. With all the bike festivals and state-wide races they host, bikers from all over the country consider Colorado as one of the premier mountain biking destination. They have trails that vary from any skill level from beginner, serious amateur, professional or just a passing fancy. The views are amazing and you will never be disappointed.
