Have you ever been convicted of felony? One question arose at University Of Oklahoma and nursing programs at Connors State College. Usually your college application consists only of basic information about you and grade results. But now along with the common questions, it will be backed up with that question.
Felony is a serious crime which includes burglary, arson, battery, illegal drug abuse/sales, robbery, murder, rape, kidnapping, fraud grand theft, embezzlement, and other similar forms. It may be punishable with one year or more of imprisonment or death.
Don’t be shocked. This is to protect other students and the school itself from any evil acts. Some high school students are comfortable with the idea. They see the positive side of the background check. Besides, we never know who are going to be our roommate or schoolmate. So a background check is one way to avoid such circumstances.
A “No” answer still leads the student to continue the college admission process. If a particular student answered positively or a “Yes” that student will be subject to a background check. Universities and colleges are complying only with their clinical requirements.
