The program of IDRF is invested in the purse which advances the knowledge about the cultures and of the companies of non-U.S. founded in empirical and site-specific research (implying field work, the search in the archivistic collections or for manuscript, or it quantitative data acquisition). The dissertation research program supports the research which is located in a specific discipline and a geographical area and is committed from the interdisciplinary and cross-regional point of view.
The public oriented product(s) may take any number of forms, but the medium and the content must be proposed by the fellowhsip applicant. For carrying out proper dissertations research fellowhsip funds are disbursed to the Fellowhsip recipient in four payments. The first disbursement will be for $5,000.00 and will serve as start-up funding for the dissertation research; it will be made within 45 days of award notification. A second disbursement for $3,000.00 will be issued on acceptance of a three-to-five page progress report due one (1) year after the fellowhsip award date. A third disbursement of $1,000.00 will be sent after the successful defense of the dissertation research and submission of the dissertations research to SRI Foundation. A final disbursement of $1,000.00 will be issued on receipt of the report describing the public-oriented product (s).
In conclusion we can say that unless exceptional circumstances apply, the IDRF Review Committee expects that the dissertation research will be defended within three (3) years of the fellowhsip award, and the public products will be developed and submitted to IDRF within one (1) year following the defense although these products can be developed and delivered prior to the dissertation research defense.
