Common mistakes which should be avoided in the formulation of a web page

Some of the common mistakes which many web designers commit during their designing process are listed below:

1. Do not use fancy web programming. Use simple and basic technologies. Avoid using Flash on your website, because if the user does not have flash he will not be able to visualize the content of the web page. It would be preferable that you do not use aggressive java scripts, in case you do so then many security pop ups may appear which will only scare the visitors. It is better that you do not use poor DHTML solutions as this will make the web page look misaligned, it may not be consistent with all the browsers and operating systems.

2. It is advisable that you do not use unnecessary words, ensure that you use words that are 100% needed. Be straight forward and convey the exact message which you want to convey especially this is relevant to the professional websites. According to a survey it has been found out that a visitor stays only 30 seconds on a website. So make sure that you convey the exact message within the short span of period. So it is always better that the content which you write on your website is simple and straightforward.

3. Do not assume that the visitors are aware about what you are talking. It is quite important to understand that you are speaking in simple language, incase you are wanting to be too descriptive then be sure that you use many examples in between, here the main aim is to convey the main purpose of what you are trying to convey to the targeted netizens.

4. One technique which you must not forget is that repeat the important points which you want to stress more. Repetition really works always try and repeat the important points which you want to convey. Ensure that you repeat the strong points atleast thrice, websites are read in linear way, so incase a visitor reads the headline and does not read the content inside then ensure that the message has been conveyed multiple times in your webpage. Repetition is the key to convey your purpose.

5. It is very good that you understand the reader’s point of view. It is very important that you avoid putting your content in big paragraphs as they are likely to be skimmed. It is human tendency to read the content which you think is important so in such a case it is essential that you write a content which has many headlines and sub headings as they will insure that your ad copy gets more number of readings.
