According to Search Travel Online, Mainland Spain counts as one of the most frequented travel destinations. Its no shock, as such an abundance of deals to this area, are so easy on the pocket. Why not consider the beauty though, that the Algarve has to offer? Taking in Portugal's south coast with us, could be just the break you need. A break that is likely to prove superior to any Spanish destination.
So here are six reasons why the Algarve should be seriously considered as your next holiday destination:
Southern Europe, as you may well expect, is always going to offer great weather. All year round. My opinion though, has The Algarve edging above the likes of mainland Spain. It's intense warmth, is regulated by a relaxing ocean breeze. It is never too hot. The Algarve is at its peak during July and August. 28 degrees centigrade, being the average. 6 hours of 15-degree sunshine on a January day though, make it a great winter destination also. So should it be your summer holiday, or just an excuse to get away from Britain, and its woeful wintriness. Cheap package holidays to the Algarve should have your endorphins smiling.
Brilliant Beaches
There's a spectacular quantity of beaches in the Algarve region. Over 30 in fact. That means that you are definitely going to find the one to suit your individual needs. Weather it's the sporty, activity laden shores your after. A loving, arm in arm meander, with your special one, or somewhere that suits the needs of you and your children. The Algarve has it all. And each one boasts the weather that is synonymous with the Algarve. Synonymous with fun, enjoyment and relaxation.
Great Golf.
Want somewhere that's going to offer you as many quality golf courses, as it does, quality beaches? Then the Algarve is definitely the place for you. There are 19 golf courses in all. That pretty much means that what ever your level of ability, you are destined to find a venue that suits your game. Should you be taking the children for a fun round, or testing your skills against the famous perils of the Algarve's world renowned Royal Course, you will be able to further your enjoyment levels, in the Algarve. The manner in which these course pepper the Algarve, means that you are never too far away from getting the clubs out of the bag.
Fantastic Food
Something that most people enjoy when they go on holiday, is sitting down to a nice meal. Well choosing one of the Algarve's many, fine quality restaurants, will have you enjoying a great tasting, reasonably priced meal. With meals usually costing between £8 - £10 pounds per person, inclusive of wine, it's understandable that far more people eat out in the Algarve, as opposed to Britain. Local ingredients are the order of the day, so that's seafood dishes in the more coastal restraints, and spiced chicken and pork, as the restaurants move inland. Those that like British cooking, and don't mind missing out, will appreciate the fair amount of eateries that cater for tourists, so there's no chance of getting homesick in the Algarve!
Captivating Culture
It's safe to assume that going and watching a bullfight, is not a lot of people's idea of culture. But festivals are. Drinks, music and arts festivals, all year round, offer something for everyone, as do the museums and galleries, with their insight into the Algarve's history.
Noteworthy Nightlife
To describe the Algarve nightlife, is to describe an extremely varied nightlife. Something for all people is to be found. A partition exists between the more high paced clubbing side of the Algarve, and the slower, cultural evening experience that is there to be enjoyed. In terms of clubbing, Albufeira is brilliant. It has a rich selection of clubs and bars, which makes it the Algarve's premium clubbing location for British and German tourists. It may not boast the clubbing heritage that Ibiza has, but the Algarve is doubtless fun, fun, fun!
An evening taking in the cultural spoils of the Algarve is a fantastic alternative to all that crazy clubbing. There's nothing quite like the resonance of a live fado folk music performance. Such mellow, relaxing culture is a great accompaniment to a seafood dinner, with a glass or two of the regional tipple!
This really doesn't begin to describe just how unique, and enjoyable a place, the Algarve really is. Not to mention inexpensive. There's a plethora of cheap package holidays in the Algarve to be had out there. You just have to book one of these bargains, and get out there, to see for yourself. Make a great choice this summer. Choose the Algarve.
