The single, is said to be about post adolescence, or what teenage girls go through while at the threshold of adulthood. The singer/actress couldn't have picked a better song to suit how she should express her current situation. With the tweeny High School Musical behind her, the 19 year old is looking for ways to evolve both as a singer and actress; "from a girl to a young woman who can speak out," says Entertainment Tonight.
Though Gone With the Wind will not be the first single to come out of her new album, rather it's an upbeat, high-energy song titled Sneakernight, which reportedly already has a music video in the can and ready to roll. The preview is already viewable in Myspace, and at present has generated over 20 million hits. It seems like a good move by her publicists not to preempt her "girl dancing in rubber shoes" image (such as found in Sneakernight) with a more mature look (as in Gone With the Wind), since soccer moms the world over would most likely be uncomfortable with sudden changes.
The new album is set to release this summer right before the premier of the long awaited cash cow High School Musical 3 which will be shown in theaters October 24.
