Not since Michaelangelo revealed his " Statue of David," has society plunged deeper into idolatry and sin. Yesterday evening, San Francisco witnessed a revealing contemporary rendition of the late Renaissance master's perfectly proportioned tribute to the male physique. It shares the same name as David, however instead of having a connotation of biblical proportions, the one whom we speak of today is a Soccer star.

In an ad campaign for Emporio Armani, L.A. Galaxy superstar David Beckham has stripped down to the bare essentials and reminded us that he's not just here to endorse his soccer balls. In an amphitheater adjacent to Macy's department store in downtown San Francisco, thousands of people awaited the unveiling of another, similarly gratuitous, David Beckham underwear shot. The billboard is spread out across the face of the Macy's building, distracting anyone that crosses its path.

The photos of David Beckham wearing just his white Emporio Armani underwear while working out at a Malibu beach was the brainchild of photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. From the looks of it, David is still sporting his well-toned manliness since his last ad campaign with Armani, wherein he was also shown in his briefs. Frankly, you don't have to be a particular gender to feel like you have been desecrated by the plain sight of it. The rest of the photos from the campaign will later be unveiled in cities such as Rome, London, Paris, Tokyo, New York. It seems that the rest of the world will have to wait just a little bit longer to be dis/graced by all that man juice.
