Here is an article that will show you a few tips on how to use the ever popular search boxes that populate the internet.

You can find Search boxes everywhere on the internet and on almost every type of webpage. Of course, the most used and biggest search box is the one found on Google.com. Google is the source for most search boxes used on the internet.

Most of the websites that use search boxes are sites that have a lot of content, many of these site are articles sites.

There are many smaller websites that offer articles that include a search box on website as well as direct text links. A lot of websites offer the popular Google search box that will include a search of the website as well as the World Wide Web (www).

For an example in this article we will look at a searcj engine website called http://www.ArticlesbySearch.com, there are a lot of similar sites on the internet like this one, most of them major ones. This site has a selection of custom search links you can choose from on the main page. On the main page there there are links to different Google custom search boxes that give you the option of searching a major website or specific websites, this is a great feature. The custom search box allows you to get a more focused and specific search result then say with a major serach engine. The main page has a search box that searches the top 450 article websites, making your search for an article more precise.

A real good tip: on all search boxes you can narrow your search down by using the quotation marks ( " " ). Say for instance you want to search for an article on caring for house plants, well then you would type into the search box "caring for house plants". This way you are getting specific results not a wide range of other results.

Another easy tip to use when searching is to use more than one word in your search to narrow your results down. You can use brackets such as (houseplants, indoorplants, etc.) in your search box. Don't worry about capitalization, as upper or lower case words will have the same result. Don't include common words in your search such as where, how, a ..., these will be ignored by the search engine. If you really need to use common words in your search, use the quotation marks around them such as "where".

Here is a small list of popular websites where you can find articles by search, the list includes some established sites as well as some newer ones.
