But How Do I Get from A to B?

Many of us are pretty familiar with the process of how we should formulate and write down our goals.

We have heard, learned and studied all about SMART goals. In fact, we are all getting very adept at making sure we write down our goals following this trusted method.

When we first heard about the concept of SMART goals, it was new and exciting. It certainly helped us to ensure that we included all the necessary ingredients that would ensure that we achieved success.

Following the recipe, we know to write down our objectives, ensuring that they are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and have a time-frame. Some people use slight variations on what each letter of the SMART acronym stands for, but it all boils down to much the same thing. It is hailed as a sure-fire process to set goals and achieve them.

And this is all well and good. It is most definitely a method that forces us to write down our objectives in a reasonable amount of detail.

But once we meticulously write down our goals, what happens then? Does this method really guarantee that we will be successful and achieve our goals?

I am sorry to say that it does not.

We need a way to ensure that we get from the task of setting goals, to actually achieving them. We know how to do the first part. That is the easy bit. But how do we reach our goals without giving up? Simply put, how do we get from A to B?

Imagine if there was a simple method whereby you just had to follow steps 1, 2 and 3, and you were guaranteed success?

Without putting too fine a point on this, we are living in the real world. If something is worth achieving, then it is not supposed to be easy!

So forget about any promises of success without any effort on your part. There are tips and suggestions that you can follow, but it is entirely up to you whether you achieve your goals or not. I am sorry to burst your bubble, but you need to stay fully focused on your goal at all times to succeed.

You must believe in yourself and in your own ability to succeed. Be positive at all times and tell yourself that you can and you will achieve your goal.

If you are determined enough, I can then guarantee that you will succeed!
