Whenever the word hollywood comes into mind, people usually think of the glitz and glamour that surrounds it like an insurmountable wall that only a select few can and would want to be a part of. And who could blame them? Everyday we watch celebrities and their scandals flash all over television headlines, and stories of country bumpkins with their aspirations of becoming an actor or actressand in the end find their dreams as well as their innocence shattered. hollywood has become a circus. A world where the common person is happy to be a part of, though from a safe distance.
However, what most people don't know is how one could use this chaotic conundrum, which is Hollywood, for their financial benefit without sacrificing a shred of their integrity. Apart from the perversity that Hollywood is known for, it has, without a doubt, been synonymous to wealth. The seemingly endless pool of resources movie producers have doesn't all end up in the hands of their biggest actors or actresses. There are also those who stand in the sidelines, less glorified (the ones who patiently wait for casting calls and auditions) yet equally important in the attempt to give a film its desired "realism." Without these nameless individuals who stand in the background, a film would just as well be seen as contrived, or utterly ridiculous. Therefore it is rightfully so, that standing in as an extra--a label that we can now perceive as less degrading--would potentially earn more than any other menial occupation. The only challenge left for the common man or woman is to take a chance, and make each opportunity count.
