The latest pool float products on the market are filled with rubberized foam that is durable, resistant to pool chemicals and they never go flat. Kids just love them, because they are spongy soft and never have to be inflated, so they are always ready to go.
Of course you are going to have to get a few safety floats for the young ones that don't know how to swim yet. This is because even if you don't have any youngsters yourself, some will be showing up at some point in time. There is a wide variety of this type of childs float for you to select from, so pick the type that looks the most comfortable and easy to put on.
Plain black inner tubes are just a bad idea for use in in a pool for a number of reasons. To begin with, they have to be inflated and are usually too big for a pool. Also, inner tubes are hard to ride on and paddle, so they are best used at the beach or the river where the water is moving.
Lastly inner tubes have a big metal inflater nozzle that can't be tucked in. It won't take long before someone comes out of the pool with a big ugly scrape across their stomach from the inner tube nozzle during rough pool play. Also, don't forget to pick up a big plastic container to keep all of the pool floats in when they are not in use, so they will last longer.
