Success Comes With One Important Key

Running after every opportunity that comes your way is not how you will succeed in business. There is a better way. One that is overlooked, but quite simple.

Today there are more "experts" and "gurus" for any type of business than ever before. If you happen to be on a mailing list for home based businesses, online businesses, or start your own business, you know what I am talking about. EVERYONE'S business is the only way you will make money. But if everyone is promising you great things, how come so few actually make you money.

There are many business opportunities to try. These range from direct mail, which costs you an arm and a leg, to "join for free" which requires you to spend money on marketing or waste a lot of time trying "free" ads and such that just don't work.

My story starts with trying all of that and more. I am a stay-at-home mom with five kids. My husband had to quit his job because of certain circumstances, and was left scrambling to try and find work to provide for us and pay the bills. I knew I needed to find something that would actually pay off and start helping us get out of the hole we were in. Unfortunately, I decided to try as many things that I possibly could, digging the hole we were in much deeper.

I tried some direct mail opportunities. I spent way too much time and money making copies of these opportunities, buying mailing list labels, and buying roll after roll of stamps. On one "guaranteed" opportunity, I brought in $37.00. I obviously spent more on copies and stamps than I got in return.

I then turned to the internet. Wow! A plethora of opportunities. "Sign up for free." "Make money without doing anything." "Your very own website." "It's easy to sell our products." And so many more.

I dove right in believing their words that I was going to make money. The problem was, I was desperate! I was trying anything and everything. I HAD to make money. You would think this would have driven me and I would have made lots of money. But, actually, it did the exact opposite. I had my hands in too many things at once, which made it impossible for me to put the effort needed in each opportunity to make it work.

I decided I was going about it all wrong. I was just trying anything. I didn't know much about these products or sites. I didn't believe in them. I was even afraid to tell people about them because I wasn't even sure if I would buy it. I knew that in order to have a true business I needed something I could believe in.

I stopped everything. Everything! I knew I had missed the most important key to succeeding. I needed to find the right thing for me. It had to be something that I would enjoy doing and enjoy talking to other people about. I was trying too many things hoping that it would work. When what I needed to be doing was focusing on one thing that I could truly believe in and doing it well.

My time on the internet changed. I was not spending all my time finding opportunities to get involved in, I was now spending time researching and comparing these companies and opportunities so I could determine which business to go with. I finally found what worked for me.

I got started in the cash flow note business. I really didn't know if I would be able to do it or not, but it just felt like something I could concentrate on and enjoy. I spent my time and energy making it work. I knew I had to believe in it and I knew it would take some effort. But, I only focused on this one thing until it worked.

I closed my first two deals just weeks apart. I made $1,714 on my first and $1,900 on my second. It was great. I was actually seeing money come in. I knew this was a legitimate business because I was talking with note holders and investors. This was what I was looking for.

I now spend a little time each day on my note business, but am now researching opportunities again to see what else I can do. I take one thing at a time, make it work, and then move on.

That is the true key. Find the one business opportunity that is right for you. There are so many to choose from. But when you find the "one" stick with it and make it work! Then move on to the next. Believe in the opportunity as well as in yourself!
