And like most people, as I grew a bit older, the time to do these things grew less and less and the dust began to gather on the cover of that guitar.
Then, one evening I was watching a documentary on Eric Clapton, and the way the man can play the guitar, awoke my dream again. I resolvd to get some lessons and rekindle my ability (what little I previously had)
I paid about $300 for a few lessons but at the end of the course I found that I wasn't getting the satisfaction with my playing as I should have.
It wasn't for lack of practice, I did what I was recommended to do, and more, but the same mistakes kept creeping in. You know the kind of things - bum notes, timing was out, and frustration.
It is true that as you get older, it gets more difficult to learn to play or advance in your playing of an instrument but even so, I felt I should be doing better.
So I kept an eye out for something, and lo and behold, I finally found it.
This system I have used, and while I am no Jimi Hendrix or Clapton, I can confidently play my guitar and I am really thrilled I tried and stuck with this system.
I now play my guitar every weekend and have recently played at a wedding, this was a spontaneous request but I was thrilled to be asked to play a few songs.
If you want to learn how to play guitar or improve your playing - look no further than this
