CIRCULAR

CAUTION AGAINST ACTIVITIES OF CRIMINAL GANG


1. It has been learnt through reliable resources of police that, few members of a criminal Gang are reported to be operating on I I Chundrigarh Road as well as other busy market areas. They look for apprently well to do individuals, with the intent to forcibly make unauthorized use of their credit/debit and ATM Cards.
The objective of the Circular is to help all employees of SBP (H.O.K), SBP BSC in avoiding possible mishap relating to the activities of this Gang.
2. Information received on the profile and modus operandi of above mentioned gang is elaborated below.

 Till now no weapon has been physically seen or used openly by any member of the Gang

 This gang has been found very aesthetically dressed and it is really hard to make out their role from their personalities. They are mostly in closed collar / with or without jacket etc.

 They would walk up very briskly and will shake hand / ask you with some wrong name and organization i.e. etc. Then on, individual (victom) is dictated / directed / threatened by them as to proceed further, as per their order.

 This gang is not mobile and usually makes up their trip either on rickshaw, cab or bus / or some part on foot.

 During the course of incident, they are continuously in touch with some close aides / associates on their cell phone.

 Merchants, where credit cards have been forcibly utilized, are mostly in Saddar / Tariq rd area. Normally they go to Jewelers, electronics shops, buy watches/ cell phones/ trousers/shirts/shoes etc in a very short interval of time.

 They ask for the pin codes of the ATMs / Debit cards, take you to the ATM lobbies, withdraw cash and then proceed further for the shopping.

 They keep the individual engage in all this mess for about 2 - 5 hours (keeping in view the number of cards you are carrying) and then disengage.

 They do not permit to put on the mobile by the individual who is with them in the course of this incident as a safe measure that nobody should follow up. They instruct the individual to behave normally and must acknowledge the shopping list as per their desire.

RECOMMENDATIONS

 All employees should avoid moving singly during lunch/tea breaks/at the end of day and also late night.

 Minimum cash/ valuables / costly mobiles should be kept on person while commuting between offices, eating areas/shops and residence.

 Only minimum desired Credit/ ATM cards with safe Cash/ Merchant limits should be kept once on I.I.Chundrigarh road and specifically during the office hours as peak hours are used by the culprit to their advantage.

 The contents of this mail may also be passed onto the employees who do not have the access on e - mails.

 While going back from offices, specially after late sitting try to avoid moving alone.
