I was just thinking about horses. Actually I'm from horse country, home of the Georgetown Equestrian Olympics which are coming in 2010. With it's rolling pastures, lazy streams, and gorgeous sunsets, there is no horse country like Kentucky. The games are described by the website VisitGtown.com:

The 2010 World Equestrian Games being hosted by the Kentucky Horse Park, are comprised of the world championships for seven different equestrian disciplines: show jumping, dressage, eventing, driving, endurance, vaulting and reining. The games are held every four years, in the middle of the Olympic cycle.

Well even if you're like me and you don't know vaulting from jumping, you probably still like horses. If you're lucky enough to have ever ridden one through the countryside you know there is no other feeling like it in the world. It's also a way to connect with people of the past who built whole countries on horseback. Like art, it's a shared human experience with cultures throughout the ages. It's also a special relationship between animal and people.
