How to Make Money with a Dating Affiliate
09th April 2006
There was a time about 3 years ago, that I wanted to make money on the Internet. Yes, I knew it could be done, and I'm not scared of html, php or even learning anything new for that matter. I just felt that there was money to be made on the Internet. So much so, I wanted a piece of the pie. Understand, nobody came to me and showed me how much money they made on the Internet. But from all the dating sites listed, I figured that Internet dating was where the money was. Yes, there's billions spent on Internet dating. I wanted only a small piece of the pie. I figured I could buy a nice dating script, promote it heavily, and be off to the races. I'd be rolling in money. Well, I saw the price of many of the dating scripts available, and decided on two things. The first thing I was concerned with was the initial cost of some of the scripts, as it appeared that an entry-level script that was decent would cost at least $300. What about after I purchased the script, installed it, and than, spent money and time promoting it? Well, lets put it this way. Lets say you are the one looking to join a dating site, so you find one of the millions listed. And lets even say you find my site and visit it. Alas, no members. Would you really shell out some bucks to join? I wouldn't. What about offering a free dating website for a while, just to build up membership, than, start charging? Lets do some math. 50 states in the US, 2 sexes (male & female), and lets not even consider the possibility of offering gay or lesbian. Now figure in age differences. How many members for free would need to join so that I could find a woman in her early 30's who is white, doesn't smoke and lives close to me in Columbus, Ohio? Well, it would take a lot! Therefore, I reason it would take at least 5000 members to have an appealing dating website. I decided to bail on this idea, but still couldn't shake the idea of earning a piece of the Internet dating pie. My searches, high and low as the may be, netted me, a Tangowire site. No, it's not an affiliate site. I actually own the site. I have a domain name,
http://www.thatdatingsite.com the neat thing is, I have an established database of thousands of users from day one. I have left handed lesbians who are social drinkers in Nebraska all the way up to sweet Christian people looking for non-smokers and non-drinkers in Florida. The beauty of Tangowire is that all of the Tangowire webmasters share their members in a common database, but Tangowire allows the Webmaster to customize the site to his preferences. Check out my site at
http://www.thatdatingsite.com and you'll see what I mean. I have run this site for around 3 years, and have never hesitated on renewing the domain name each year. I get a constant flow of income from this site. No, I'm not getting filthy rich, but I do make enough income to take my wife out for dinner a few times a month. It has been rewarding as well as a learning experience. All that is required is purchase a domain name, set-up your site, and start sending traffic. If you are interested in pursuing this, I'd suggest checking out my site at www.thatdatingsite.com and clicking the "Powered by Tangowire" icon in the top right corner. I have found that Google Adwords and article submissions will supply ample traffic to keep your site earning.
