Alcoholism among Young People

In a speech of a government official the society will always look wonderfully, no matter what the real situation is. The "focus on the positive" strategy will not always work in order to improve the situation. Despite the information publicly provided, the society itself knows the reality and all the harshness of it. Social problems are a topic that politicians omit discussing, for people hardly believe that the government may influence the state of things. Rare public organizations that distribute information on the topic of social problems or in otherwise diseases appear here and there. But people reject help, considering them to be outsiders that no nothing about the essence of a problem. The only way out we see is to find problem and exterminate it on your own.

Young people that have less moral and material obligations, than any other members of society choose among a variety of ways to spend free time. Their interests and hobbies are supposed to be the concern of a society in general, for children are the future of society. Their activities have to involve development and growth, both spiritual and physical. The choice between what is right and what is fun and easy is not even considered. Children begin getting involved in different activities that do not have positive influence on their personality. Instead of doing sports and having fun together with some friends outdoors, children get addicted to smoking, drinking and drug using that makes them feel special. What is surprising is the fact that an average adult will have difficulties with buying spirits and cigarettes of a good quality. When it comes to black market, everything is possible for an impressible individual of a young age. Drinking and smoking from time to time may seem fun and everyone says that it is easy to quit, but everybody knows that this is not true. Addiction is a serious problem that is extremely difficult to fight. Only people with stamina and strong will are capable to fight the temptation. Despite action of the government that tries to evaluate the seriousness of the problem and act accordingly, smoking and drinking is as popular among grown ups as it is among children and teenagers. According to the statistics given in reflective essay writing of a student that actively takes part in movement against selling alcohol to children under 21, 60% of young individuals drink in order to look like parents. The "game" is the first thing children perform: firstly they follow the example of parents copying their actions, and then they try to act alike, playing different games (www.perseus.tufts.edu). This manner falls in the back of the mind of an individual and when the question arises, then why not to try things your parents did daily? There are two possible reactions on parental lifestyle when children are aware of motivating factors in their lives: they either reject their lifestyle completely or accept it as an ideal solution for them. One more reason to take a bottle and try it is a desire to be an outstanding individual that is different from the group. The task of the society is to show what the other ways to show your uniqueness to the surrounding are.

The truth is that no assignment, program or even law will stop the problem that exists both among children and grown ups. The problem lies deep in the gutter of the mentality of people that consider social drinking a proper thing for teenagers. Sometimes parents themselves give their children a glass or two meaning no real harm. What happens when you show person a temptation matter and say that it is forbidden? The interest to it will be twice as active as it was before. We are to bring up good members of the society that will be our hope and continue the development. And we are to watch them carefully and give advice when they get kicked off the right track.
