Preparing for a Summer of Hits

This Summer may be the most looked forward to since the summer of Will Smith's "Independence Day" and Helen Hunt's "Twister". With a mix of action, mystery and adventure movie fans will enjoy one of Hollywood's hottest summers. Unless you have been living in a bomb shelter the last few weeks, you should already have your list of must sees writtendown. Here are a few great films from what this summer will have to offer.

X-Men: Last Stand

The hype has out lasted the rumors regarding Last Stand. From moving the release date to rumors of production problems this film has used all the chatter to help promote big release. One of the more interesting things about this move has been the cast with Kelsey Grammer as "The Beast" and the return of the all-star cast from Patrick Stewart to Halie Berry. This flim will be hot, I would expect nothing less from Bret Ratner and his crew who have pumped out two hits in Jackie Chan's Rush Hour series.

The Da Vinci Code

Dan Brown conspiracy comes to life in this adventure-mystery film based on the secret Catholic society Opus Dei. This film was created the day the book hit the best seller list and ever since has been destined to greatness. With the likes of Tom Hanks playing Robert Langdon, Ian McKellen as Sir Leigh Teabing and the talented Audurey Tautou as Sophie Neveu this blockbuster is bound to be a delight to all those who pay the price of admission.

Superman Returns

With the death of Christopher Reeves, the original Superman of three films, this film has brought itself a lot of attention and expectation. Newcomer Brandon Routh will have some big shoes to fill. The film promises to be interesting with Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. The test will be in how well the chemistry between the newy guy and the pro compliment each on the silver screen. The director Bryan Singer is no stranger to the comic book film scene giving us the mega-hits X-Men I and II and with writers Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel this film should be an easy summer blockbuster.

Pirates of The Carribean: Dead Man's Chest

Ho, ho, ho and a bottle of rum, Dead Man's Chest may be the biggest money maker this summer next to X-Men III. Nobody plays a pirate quite like Johnny Deep, and he is back to light up the sliver screen in this much anticipated summer hit. With the return of Orlando Bloom and the always attractive Keira Knightley this film will be an adventerous, on the edge of your seat thrill ride. If there is one movie you should take the family to this summer, its's Dead Man's Chest.

This summer don't spend your time outdoors, spend them in your local movie theater, enjoying the best summer full of blockbusters this country has seen in years. Best regards, Movie Mike. Come check out my website at www.moviematchonline.com
