Cigar band is the piece of paper usually wrapped around the head of the cigar to identify the brand. It is a debatable issues that whether to remove it before smoking or let it stay at its place. Putting Out & Removal of Your Cigar
Do not crush the cigar as one do with a cigarette, if for any reason one has to put out the cigar. Doing this causes it to seethe and give off a foul smell. Let it sit in the ashtray, and within approximately two minutes it will go out by itself. If you want to re-light it, do it within an hour or the tars that collect at the end will become too bitter to enjoy the smoke. Discard the butt right away once you have finished your cigar, as it becomes bitter and gives off a bad odor after it sits for a while.

Always prefer to smoke in a well-defined smoking area. Some non-smokers can be quite intolerable in making your business their business. You can also politely asking others in your company if they mind you lighting up a cigar.
Smoking at Home
Choose a room with proper ventilation to smoke your favorite cigar. Make sure, your family member especially children do not inhale the smoke. Some parents do not smoke in sight of their children so as not to influence them. Make your own rule for smoking to allow you to enjoy your smoking fullest.
