In order to find out whether you are eligible to receive a federal Wells Fargo no cosigner student loan, you will need to follow several steps. These steps include the following:
- Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Get your Student Aid Report and Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
- Receive financial aid packages from your school
- Research Federal Stafford Loans and apply with Wells Fargo
- Check your application status online
Only students who demonstrate financial need will qualify for a subsidized loan while students will not need to demonstrate financial need in order to be eligible for unsubsidized student loans. The other difference between these two versions of the federal Well Fargo student loan programs is that the government will pay for the interest that accrues on your subsidized student loan while you are in school while you will be responsible for the interest of your loan while you are in school with an unsubsidized student loan.
If for some reason you do not qualify for a Wells Fargo federal loan, or need additional funds, you might also consider a Wells Fargo private student loan. These loans are available for the following:
- Undergraduate students
- Graduate students
- Students enrolled less than half-time
- Medical school/graduate health professional students
Although the interest rate of a private Well Fargo student loan may be somewhat higher than the interest rate offered with a federal loan, you can take advantage of interest rate discounts; making this an affordable option for students who need additional funding to complete their education.
