Commercial Photographer and Creativity

Commercial photographer, Advertising photographyA creative commercial photographer always wants to lend a whiff of new air to every campaign he /she takes up. The work of a commercial photographer, takes the professional to a new level of creativity, where his imagination is not bound by the limits set by his whims, and it is the broader perspective that one has to develop in order to be successful, yet there is always room for some magic. And this magic is none other than the craftsmanship of the commercial photographer.

A professional commercial photographer knows the target audience and also knows exactly what turns them on. It is not the concept of the advertisements that is being discussed, and a commercial photographer's job is not to conceptualise an ad, but when it is said that a commercial photographer can be successful when he / she knows what turns them on, it is the way the picture is taken, the poise and lighting etc.

Every one can be turned on and compelled to perform a certain task, when used the right stimulant. Different target audience have different stimulant. It can be the words used, the pictures in the advertisements, the model or the subject highlighted, the colours used in the ad, the font or just about anything. Words can sometimes be assumed as flummery, but more often than not, it is the picture in an ad that attracts our attention. We may or may not be aware of it, but our eyes does take a snapshot of a picture and it is sent to the brain. The simple reason for this is that words are consumed by the conscious mind, while pictures more often hit the sub conscious mind and it is there where things once registered, remains for a long time.

It is this opportunity that a good commercial photographer always takes advantage of. And with the help of the right lighting and the perfect positioning, takes shots that are bound to make some impact on the consumer's mind.
