Try out these 5 ways to get started exercising without equipment.
1. Walking and Jogging
It’s nice to go outdoors so that you take in the scenery and fresh air, but stormy days are always a concern. Consider these ideas - Have stairs? Try going up/down them for 10 minutes. You can tone up your lower half while also getting light cardiovascular activity as a bonus. If no stairs are available, you can jog in place - It's good for your heart. You can jog at home while watching favorite TV shows or listening to music. This would require some jogging shoes to eliminate unnecessary stress on your joints, but except for that no equipment needed.
2. Free Squat
The ultimate workout for your lower body. If you find these to be too hard, try using a chair to keep from toppling backwards or just hold your arms out front for maintaining balance.
3. The Jumping Jack Exercise
If you don't remember what being a kid is all about, these may jog the memory.
But believe me, a couple hundred of jumping jacks will definitely make your heart and lungs work. Try them for a warmup, or they can be done as sets between other exercises.
4. Push-ups
The pushup a great upper body work out that involves the deltoids(shoulders), chest, and triceps muscles. These may be difficult for you, but you can try them while on your knees instead. As you gain strength use full pushups.
5. Ab Crunches
Excellent choice to build a strong core. These are better than sit ups since they don't stress your lower back. Avoid pulling on your neck, instead cross your arms over your chest or you can keep your hands positioned very lightly on the head.
You may want to begin thinking about getting an even better work out at home with low cost or space required, there are some things you may consider...
Jumping Rope
At a cost under 20 dollars, it is a bargain. This is a fantastic cardiovascular workout in only 15min.
Adjusting Dumbells
These tend to run beginning from 25 dollars for a used set, to maybe $350 per set for the more popular dumbells. The amount of exercises you can do with a set of dumbbells is unlimited, plus they they don't require space.
