It is necessary to point out some additional flaws in Anselm’s theory. The first flow is the statement, that God is everything to everyone. It is rather disputable assertion, because each person has own point of view as for perception of God and everybody may give the definition of God in different way. It is very hard to find at least two individuals which are completely alike. That is why each person has some specific beliefs and understanding of God. Everybody has the freedom of worship, so it is not necessary to stick to the same beliefs in elder age that you were taught, being a child. Living in the society and getting the life experience, one may follow absolutely other ideas and beliefs. It is typically for people to develop their own values. There is the opinion that it is impossible to find two individuals, who could give the same features and explanation of God. At the same time, if two different people give the opposite features of God, then God does not exist. It is impossible to consider that God is everything to everyone, as a lot of examples may be given to argue. For example, one considers God to be forgiving, when another believes that God can penalize for sins. According to Anselm’s definition, God can not posses both features.
Another flaw of Anselm’s theory is that if you believe in something or imagine something existing, it is obviously exists. There is no way of using the definition of God as a being, because everyone can define it in his own way. You can understand the meaning of such words as “greatest being” of “efficial cause”, but it does not mean that such being is real. Not everything that is that you can imagine, can exist. This is the great leap of faith in Anselm’s theory.
