Puppy Care - puppy teething.

When puppy comes to a stage of development where everything seems edible and if not chewed up beyond all recognition, then its time to contol the development of your puppies teething rampage.

1. Firstly to stop puppy from destroying everything in reach, put all valuables out of reach of your puppy.

2. Acquire a puppy crate, preferably an unchewable crate that is comfortable and not too expensive as you may need to upgrade as your puppy grows. If a crate is not your first preference, then a small area in your house or outside under shelter is fine as long as the area is fenced off so as not to allow puppy to escape and tear up the town.

3. Hard chewy toys are the best for teething puppies. Dogs need hard objects to strenghthen their teeth and dull the pain. Soft toys do almost no good here, but only to keep puppy occupied for a short time before a good hard chewy object is sought after again. There are specific teething toys available. One's that squeek, beep, rattle and shake. The one thing to remember is that the toy should be big enough so that puppy does'nt swallow it! Crunchy, chewy dog biscuits for puppies are also an excellent teething toy for your puppy. Although it can become expensive and unhealthy for your pupp depending on what the biscuit contains in terms of ingredience.

So to sum up what you may need to help puppy through teething pains comes down to three suggestions. Have a designated, preferably fenced off and sheltered area within your home or outside. Provide only safe and healthy aids for your puppy, such as teething toys or biscuits that will not choke your puppy, and introduce a crate for puppies comfort zone if possible.
