Moose Wins Kentucky Derby

In a rare but legal entry into the Kentucky derby, a moose was allowed to run in place of "Lightning Thunder" a thouroughbred from Lexington. In the time trials 3 days before the race the home town favorite "Lightning Thunder" was pulled from the race because of indigestion.

Lightning Thunder had escaped the stable and was found laying in a garden of would be rapper Boo Boo Digi. When BBD, came out to get his paper, found the 1200 pound horse laying on his side with garden snails scurrying past. A rare phenom usually seen around Canada and sometimes on the web.

When the trainer came by to collect his Prized "Lightning Thunder" and saw the snails passing his champion, he decided to use the rare and never used provision in the Kentucky Derby Rules:

If an entry into the derby is found laying in a garden with snails, a substitute moose may be entered.

With this, a moose was commissioned to run in Lightning Thunders place.
