Bras can rub on tender breast tissue in exactly the same place and continuous wearing of an ill-fitting bra can rub on the tender breast tissue and thus cause a lump. Sometimes these lumps have to be removed.
Often doctors are unsure whether they are benign cysts or tumours so opt to have them removed and analysed. This is done under general anaesthetic and is called a lumpectomy.
It is therefore important that a young lady when going for their first bra is measured correctly and is comfortable wearing a bra that suits her.
A lot of the fashion bras that are available come in various sizes so it should not be difficult to obtain a bra suitable to the needs of a lady being measured.
I am busy contacting various supermarkets in the hope that a bra fitting service can be set up in the stores that sells bras to make sure that every woman has the chance to be measured and buy a bra at the same time.
I am determined to turn a negative into a positive.
If anyone asks me about research. I wholly agree more research should be done on this subject, however, research is expensive wearing a correctly fitting bra isn't.
