Many people assume incorrectly, that because satellite TV programming utilizes a much higher level of technology to provide superior programming, that it must surly be more expensive because of this. In fact it's the exact opposite, because the higher technology level actually allows for programming service providers like DirecTV and Dish Network to provide service for far more people and greater volume means greater saving to the customer.
Because cable service providers have been hemorrhaging customers that have been switching over to satellite TV by the millions, they have been in fact been making efforts to discourage new customers from signing up to their base level packages. Their reasoning is that you are probably going to move up to satellite service eventually, so what's the benefit in signing you up to an entry level package that traditionally have a lower profit margin for the service provider.
For satellite TV programming service providers such as DirecTV and Dish Network, it is just the opposite though. This is because it has been shown that once someone gets a taste of Satellite TV programming and the service options that come with it, they tend to naturally want more to select from. So a satellite entry level package tends to be just the first stop for the average Dish Network or DirecTV viewing family member.
The folks a DirecTV and Dish network take special care and pride in making sure that their entry level programming packages are long on programming and yet short on price. Both of these service providers programming is entirely in digital format and that even includes the standard local programming that comes in every programming package that they carry.
Digital format is a far superior format then standard analog format that all your standard TV programming that you receive with antennae on the roof of your home or on your TV is sent out with. This is because with digital programming a computer in the satellite receiver is able to clean up and remove any unwanted signals or static that it has picked up on its way to you house and the results are a crystal clear picture and sound that you get on your TV set. Standard analog format signals cant be cleaned up in this way and that is why the standard TV picture is quite often fuzzy and in need of adjustment.
Just think how much nicer your home will be when there is all the great satellite TV programming playing on the TV set in the living room. The satellite TV system costs you nothing because both Dish Network and DirecTV give you a complete system that is also installed for free when you join either one of their viewing families. So what is holding you back from stepping up to satellite programming now?
