Many people have talked to me on forums, chat-rooms, etc. and asked, "How can I promote my blog without spending any money?" Natural;y I replied back and told them many ways. That's why I wanted to make a list, and post it online to help begginers, or people that have been blogging for a long time.

1. Link Directories - This is a pretty simple tactic that many use. You can get as many link backs as you want. They will help for SEO (search engine optimization) reasons as well as give you some decent direct traffic.

2. RSS Directories - They are simple yet very effective. Just place you RSS feed and you will get traffic every time you post a new article on your blog.

3. Signiture Links - Many people are active in forums. Why not let your website get into the action. Just place your forum in you signiture at the bottom of your posts.

4.Guest Posts - Contact the owner of a blog with a similar niche as your own blog. Ask them if you could make a unique blog post for them in exchange for a link to your forum from that blog post. This way the person you contacted gets quality, unique content, and you will get some of the traffic from that blog redirected back to you!

5. Digg it - Digg.com is always a great way to get views. Every time you post a new article in your blog you can submit it to Digg. You will get loads of traffic every time! Also, if your blog post gets placed on the 1st page of Digg you will get 1,000s of views every hour. That could be concidered an under statement...
