Critics say that a low-carb diet can result in deficiencies in important nutrients your body needs such as folic acid, fiber, vitamin C and other key minerals. A low-carb diet plan also lacks certain dietary fats needed to prevent disease.
A good amount of low-carb diets cause what is known as ketosis. The signs of this are abdominal pain nausea, vomiting, and confusion. You breath may take on an acetone-like odor. During the initial stages of a low-carb diet, fatigue and constipation may occur. For the most part, these symptoms go away quickly.
A good alternative to a low-carb diet would be to give up only the bad carbohydrates such as sugary snacks and white bread. Stick to the foods high in good carbohydrates which are known as complex carbohydrates. These foods consist of fruits, potatoes and whole grains.

You may notice results from a low-carb diet but are your results successful? A successful diet is one that will keep the lost weight off permanently. So think again, did you only loose weight during the first stages of your low-carb diet?
The diet you choose should be a plan for better healthier eating for a lifetime. Don’t just try to achieve your weight loss goal and then stop. More than likely you will gain it back when your diet stops. Study a diet before you start it. If you can’t see yourself eating the foods a certain diet plan consists of, then more than likely, its not the right diet for you, nor will it work for you if the eating plan is not strictly followed.
