There comes a time when all the odds of survival are against you. And you can't really do anything but to just accept your destiny and go with the flow. Although this occurrence is quite rare, it unfortunately happened to Michelle Yi, the 9th castaway on Survivor: Fiji. In an exclusive interview with BuddyTV, she shared her sentiments about the exigent competition.
Initially, Yi tried out for The Amazing Race, a reality competition series also on CBS, but somehow ended up as one of the contestants on Survivor:
Fiji. As a fan of the program and an adventure buff, she was delighted to partake in such an infamous competition.
Though she perceived herself to have played a relatively good fight, she was still taken out of the show after 24 days of endurance. It seems that she was a victim of an unfortunate twist, which placed her at the hands of four non-alliance contestants. Furthermore, the brief tribal council significantly affected her fate since the decision to vote off a person was done in a spur of the moment kind of approach. This actually made her feel disappointed.
Overall, she deems her experience on Survivor: Fiji as something very interesting and unforgettable. Unlike other castaways, she gives credit to the editing of the show, projecting all her efforts in a positive light.
Yi, a 23-year old senior student at the University of Cincinnati, is currently taking up fashion design. She enjoys traveling, photography and rock climbing. Though she is set to graduate in June, she has no definite plans yet but she remains positive of what the future may bring.
Who among the nine players remaining will be the ultimate survivor? And who will be the next castaway? Stay glued to Survivor every Thursdays at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS.
