The platy is a peaceful, sociable fish which comes in a wide range of colors; even the females are brightly colored. Its preferred water temperature is probably 24 to 26 degree Celsius and the aquarium should be well lit to encourage algae growth. Platies can be reliable breeders.
The Molly is a very popular live bearer which can be green and gold spotted or all black, depending on which species you choose.
