A BRUSH WITH KINDNESS

Habitat for Humanity Lakeland's "A Brush with Kindness" is a program that assists in preserving the concept of homeownership. This is undertaken by joining hands with struggling homeowners whose aim it is to maintain and restore their homes.
Habitat for Humanity serves "low income" homeowners, who in turn work harder to get the exterior of their homes fixed. We, at Habitat for Humanity, undertake a holistic approach in order to provide reasonable housing to families. We also aim at helping low-income families in the local community. This Habitat program was designed with those families in need and follows the "A Brush with Kindness" or A Brush with Faith concept. Our mission under Habitat for Humanity is primarily to assist the low waged homeowners in rejuvenating and restoring their respective habitat homes in order to ensure that they continue living in a reasonably safe, secure, and affordable home. Habitat also strives in bringing together the associated volunteers across faith based organizations to realize their values by being friend to a homeowner in their hour of need.
We have also come up with the idea of well-equipped and maintained habitat homes. This very program is particularly designed and created to emphasize on the very look of the neighboring homes and the surrounding environment. It also promotes the concept of community connections and assists to a major extent in preserving reasonable and affordable stock of housing under Habitat of Lakeland. We also ensure to connect various people with each other and take into consideration the restoration of homes by the help of nominal and decent "acts of kindness". This is done to actualize that the homeowners can readily reside in safe and secure homes from Habitat.
The volunteers form groups to go out to assist the homeowners for the exterior up grading and maintenance of their duly created homes for habitat. This activity incorporates landscaping, painting, weatherization and other repairing and cleaning acts by the volunteers. The respective Habitat chooses the partner families out of the many according to their need, income, and desire to partner. Donated materials construct the Habitat homes, and the profit that is generated out of the activity is used during the construction of the Habitat homes. This very program therefore completes the security of the Habitat home and the people residing in it.
