The Best Product Ever

Did you hear any of these lines when you attend your network marketing meeting? We have the best product ever! This product is so good it sells itself! We have the best comp plan ever! Our leadership and company is the best ever!

Don't get me wrong, all of these things are crucial to your success when it comes to building your home based business. You sure do not want to try to build any business which is weak in any of these areas. Even though everyone is shouting their features all over the place most of them do not know the most important element when it comes to building a home based business.

Even though all of that stuff is important, success will be very hard to accomplish without a good marketing plan. There are literally thousands of MLM or network marketing companies out there and every one of them know the importance of having a website but what is amazing to me is how few of them have any real training on how to recruit and sponsor prospects online. They all want you to order products, track your downline, sign up representatives and learn about the products online but some of them do not even want you to advertise and promote the opportunity online.

There are many people that run around joining company after company in this industry chasing the next greatest product, plan, company, etc... and wind up scratching their head and wondering why they haven't made any money when it seems like everyone else is killing it. What they don't understand is that none of that stuff matters as much as the marketing plan.

A great marketing plan will supply you with an unlimited number of interested leads for your business. A mediocre product combined with a killer marketing plan ALWAYS does better than a great product promoted with a mediocre marketing plan. For proof of that just think McDonalds. Anyone can make a better burger than them but they are great at selling and delivering them. That is why they have sold billions of them.

You can have the best product ever and not know how to market it and never make any money with it. If you focus all of your time and money on learning about the product, comp plan, or company you will be wasting a lot of energy and resources because you will have left out the part about learning how to market. To market properly you need to know your prospects and what their wants, needs, and desires are.

If you spend a lot of time trying to chase your personal contact list or people on online social sites you will not be as productive as the top marketers who know how to get those who ARE interested to find them and leave their contact info. If you are pursuing your leads you will be thought of as a nuisance but if you learn how to position yourself where you can be found by those who are interested in what you have you will be considered an expert or a leader.

Then they use their system and personal interaction to build a relationship with those leads and recruit for their primary business from those leads. Lastly they monetize their list of leads and this is done in the beginning by helping with solutions that are affiliate programs that are helpful in the business and then promoting other products on the end.

No matter how smart a person is they will always be poor with marketing until they get proper marketing training then implement what they learn and practice until they find success. In this business you have to give your business to your down line and that means you need to know what works and teach what you are doing to your prospects. If they do not succeed you will not, so you better learn what works and pass it along.

There is no business out there that you can start up and succeed in without knowing how to operate the business. If you wanted to open a bakery or restaurant or pizza business it would help if you knew how to cook. Do you agree?
