Scheme launched for generating world-class SME leaders

The launch of a scheme worth £37 million, which is aimed at sharpening business skills of entrepreneurs, has been announced recently by the Welsh Assembly Government. The scheme is expected to nurture management skills and hone business acumen of around 18,000 people engaged in businesses across west Wales and Valleys region.

and management training sessions will be held in Welsh small and mid-sized businesses to generate world-class company leaders and efficient SME managers.

Highlighting the significance of boosting managerial capacities and leadership skills to harness the full potential of SME employees, Wales' deputy minister for skills, John Griffiths, opined that availing the European funding support will help in adding more members to the programme in west Wales and Valleys region.

Moreover, with financial backing of almost £16 million from the Convergence European Social Fund for the initiative, a large number of small businesses are expected to be benefited by developing and motivating their workforce. Application for funding by interested small businesses can be made through Welsh Assembly's workforce development programme.
