My BOOM experience. 39yrs old, worked in corporate America with 5 corporate giants, each in a different markets, and cultures, with stacks of corporate culture certifications saying what a great manager I was. WOW!! After my 4th downsize, it didn’t hurt as bad as the first three, but damn if it doesn’t leave a new scar.
I tried retail, mlm, door-to-door, (windows, insurance, funeral plots), management consulting, the stock market ….and went back to Corporate Culture America. Only this time I was not as determined, not as focused, watched the days pass just wondering one thought…when is the next BOOM!
I saw it coming…always starts with a Vice President “round up the troops”; let’s get them excited about the new strategy and direction the COMPANY is going to take. Oh yea………BOOM!!! Good old Corporate Culture the one thing you can always count on….the big BOOM!
Something else took place that week....a new determination. I received this email that I usually would have sent to the trash bucket without a thought. Not this time. I met this one guy through that email, that I thought at first….oh boy….here we go again, but no. There was sincerity, inclusion, truth and honesty. And for once I decided this is it. I want to be apart of this. Was it overwhelming? Yea. Was it getting rich quick overnight? No. Did it turn my life around? You Bet!!
If I had this information before the retail, mlm, door-to-door and funeral plots..ect.
I would have been successful at all of those opportunities, but I didn’t have the HOW and the WHY. Now I have both. The HOW, The WHY, and the Bonus,
an opportunity for success around every corner waiting to be discovered. Oh yea...no more BOOMs.
