The top number (systolic) is the pressure when the heart beats and the bottom number (diastolic) is the measurement of pressure when your heart rests between the beats.

It is very important to follow your doctor's instructions. These are tips to help lower your blood pressure and live healthy.
-Reduce alcohol consumption. -Quit smoking. -Reduce the fat in your diet. Especially saturated fats. -Cut out fried foods. -Lose weight. -Exercise. -Reduce consumption of salt. It is going to take a lot of effort and commitment to make your lifestyle changes that will help lower your blood pressure. It will be too difficult to change overnight, so take a step at a time with your goal in mind. Don't give up, your health and wellness are important. When you make these changes you will feel better, look better, and have a healthier heart.
