In order to lure their attentions, give them toys that they can benefit from and can play with and share with each other. With regards to nurturing, changing diapers, and washing them, you need the asistance of your husband or older members of the family, as one-year olds are very astir; and you can't possibly do it on your own. Becoming new parents is troublesome and becoming parents to twins can be awfully nerve-racking. The stress only aggravate when there is no outside family base and aid once you bring the babies home. When family members live far from your home, their assistance and advise through the first weeks of life is not available.
