The film sucks. In a nutshell, it really sucks. The film starts off as a premiere at the Quahog Performing Arts Center. It makes light of what the characters did during their 3-year hiatus. They've recently returned to weekly TV after being cancelled. Lois, the prim and proper mom, is a drunkard. She comes out of the limo completely sloshed.
Everyone gets settled inside including Drew Barrymore, a popular guest-voice on the series, with her date, the Kool-Aid man and popular Quahog luminaries such as a rap-talking, street-wearing, P. Diddy knock-off, Cleveland Brown, the inept Mayor Adam West, voiced by Television's Batman, the real Adam West and, of course, the greased-up deaf guy. What party would be complete without a greased-up deaf guy? The film starts.
Stewie, who can't believe that Peter Griffin is his real father, is on the hunt. While watching TV with Brian, he sees a 35-year-old image of himself. He's convinced it's his dad. That would be interesting enough. But no...it's not his dad. It's actually Stewie. He's visiting from the future.
Little Stewie convinces big Stewie to take him back to the future with him. There, little Stewie learns the truth. He's a virgin who works retail. His apartment sucks. He hasn't achieved world domination. He doesn't even have his left testicle anymore.
His sister Meg had a sex-change operation. She's Ron now. His mom and dad are sent to a nursing home by Chris' evil wife, Vanessa. Little Stewie can't believe his life is so pathetic. He can't believe that Big Stewie actually loves Lois and the Fat Man, which is how he affectionately refers to his parental units. He tries to help big Stewie change his life. He succeeds in getting him fired, burning down his apartment and ruining what precious little big Stewie had left.
Lois comes to the rescue. She gives little Stewie the funding to return home to the present. Along the way he must stop Chris from marrying Vanessa so Lois doesn't end up in a nursing home. He blows the girl away on her wedding day. That's the Stewie we love. Once at home, he learns that the present isn't nearly as bad as he thought and vows to do more with his life than big Stewie did.
Now that the film is over, we go back to Tom and Diane, our newscasters, who pan to Asian reporter Trish Takanawa – she's Japanese we discover! Trish is at the after-party interviewing more stars over at the Drunken Clam, Peter's favorite bar.
That's really it. The story is weak and stupid. It's got a little bit of the satire we love about The Family Guy; but, it falls far flat of the regular episodes. The special effects are almost nonexistent unless you want to hear Seth MacFarlane sound like a jackass; and, who needs the animation comparison? It's boring. Boring. Boring.
I'm sorry I spent my money on this DVD. I'd return it; but, I'm sure that no one else wants it either. This one's a stinker. Stick to the half-hour episodes. They're so much better.
