Healthcare Trust of America, formerly Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT Inc., is a real estate investment trust that purchases hospitals, medical offices and assisted living facilities. Recently, they purchased a three-story, 66,400 square foot medical office building in Englewood, Colorado. Purchases like these prove that the Denver/Boulder, Colorado commercial real estate market is indeed flourishing, and is a hands-free, easy place to invest one's finances.
Healthcare Trust's Vice President, Mark Engstrom, claims that they chose the building because of the great location and the quality of the tenants. Most primary buildings like this one, are located fairly close to downtown as well as suburban areas. This particular building is close to Swedish Medical Center on W. Hampden Place in Englewood. The location will allow many Colorado citizens from different parts of Denver to access medical attention. Rocky Mountain MOB LLC sold the building to Healthcare Trust for $18.6 million. The three story building includes six overnight recovery rooms, two procedure rooms, seven operating rooms as well as doctor's offices. It also includes an imaging room where mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI's etc. will be conducted. The location and practical spaces make it probable that this building will be a great success.
The building was no doubt purchased by an experienced and established investment trust. The Denver/Boulder, Colorado commercial real estate business is a safe place to invest one's finances. For example, Healthcare Trust of America owns medical office buildings in 19 states around the country and they chose to make their most recent purchase in Colorado.
