If you have been selling products on eBay for a long time you probably know that the regulations of this site have suffered changes along the time. One of the more recent such changes took place in 2008 and affected many eBay sellers. Yet, even with the new, harsher regulations, eBay is still a place where you can make a lot of money.
But let's talk more about the rules which can affect your trajectory as a seller. One of the harshly criticized measures taken by eBay owners was that of interdicting sellers to post negative feedbacks on the customers who did not respect their promise or did not pay the products they have ordered. This rule has left the sellers without any means of punishing the clients for their unhealthy behavior and without a way of attracting other sellers' attention to dangerous customers. Yet, there are means to protect you from scams, if not from the first time, at least for the second time on. You can put a ban on the customers who have caused you prejudices, preventing them from ever bidding on one of your projects. Also, you can signal eBay and ask them to take attitude in the case of one or other customers which did not act honestly. You can even ask for their account to be suspended.
Another much disputed rule was that which turned each one of the neutral feedbacks into negative feedbacks. This was quite an unjust approach, which lead to serious damage of the sellers, who were no longer trusted by their clients. Honestly, there is nothing to be done about this, but you can explain your customers the reasons for which you have those negative feedbacks. Also, you can counteract those negative rates with positive ones. People will see that your services have improved since and will begin to trust you.
The third rule which was not so much loved by sellers was that which let everyone see all the details about the seller. Even though you may not like to have all your private information displayed, you can make the most of them and try to convince people that you deserve their attention. Every little detail can be speculated, so, with some imagination you can make everything work in your favor.
These are only three rules which have heated the sprits on eBay and made a lot of people give up doing business on this site. However, with patience, courage and determination you can overcome all these obstacles and make money out of selling things on eBay. You just have to try!
