Being ignored by the person you love most can be very frustrating. Because all you want to do is talk to them. But one of the biggest mistakes you can do is bombard them with phone calls. Which you've probably noticed have gone unanswered. So, how do you get your ex to return your calls?
Initially there's a cooling off period, you both should and need to go through, which means no contact so no phoning, texting or emailing. This cooling off period consists of acceptance of the breakup and the responsibility for why it ended. This is important if you want to fix the relationship.
There is one thing you can do though and that is send them a very short note letting them know you respect and agree with their decision of splitting up, then leave it a that for a little while.
So, here are the 3 tips to get your ex to return your calls:
1. When you make the first call, after the cooling off period is over; make sure it includes curiosity and self-interest. They both go hand in hand and using them together can make you a persuasive force.
For instance, leave a message something like…"Hi, I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate what you did for me. I'd really like to thank you personally, so please call me back okay."
Of course, you would put in whatever it was that you intended on saying to get the ball rolling.
2. Make sure you sound upbeat and positive and let it carry in your voice when you leave a message or even when you finally speak to them. You don't want to scare them off by sounding angry or depressed in any way.
3. Before you call, practice what you're going to say when they finally return your call. Think about what made you so appreciative, like in the example call above. Be honest and be polite, doing this will work tremendously in your favor.
