That apart, if being laid back or your seeming lack of attitude put her off, you have to practice appearing more proactive to her so that she gets to know what you are really made of. You might in the meantime try dating other women. Not only will it give you a perspective on how the other sex perceives you, it will also make your ex girlfriend view you with renewed interest. Sometimes with women, it pays to stoke the competitive instinct, and nothing arouses that more than a man who is desired by other women. You might use this to your advantage.
The next step would be to casually let your ex girlfriend know that you are open to being friends with her, even though you have other female friends. Hang out with her and show her your fun side, and do not make overt efforts to woo her. Let her realize what she is missing. If you play your cards right you will have her back.
Getting your girlfriend back is definitely not a piece of cake. You have to work hard at it. After all, you two broke up for some reason, and unless you can identify what that is, and are able to make it go away, things would never get back to normal with you. On the other hand if you do make the effort to win her back, and are successful in winning her back you may be one lucky bloke. For who knows the one that you had almost lost might have been your soul-mate, and nobody else would ever have been able to fill her void in your life.
