Let me start with some background information. I am a 22 year old, fledgling pro-tennis player. I have been practicing and training rigorously for the past year, to begin a professional career. My coach and I both feel that I am ready for this. I still, however, have one obstacle, the money. My family and I just do not have the resources to cover the enormous expenses I will incur. These expenses include travel, lodging, equipment, etc. The fund I am trying to put together will give me the chance to "prove myself" on the tour, for which I've been working so hard. I have tried unsuccessfully, through several different venues, to come up with the needed funding. I have sought sponsorship through sportswear manufacturers, shoe manufacturers, and different airlines. So far the efforts have come to no avail. I have now launched an online magazine fundraiser as a last resort to obtain the necessary financing. I have also decided that 20% of all proceeds brought in will be donated to the American Red Cross. I have worked with them in the past on several different projects. They are very important to me.
